Please share this opportunity within your network! Selected members will train in Ann Arbor but will have a workspace within commute distance from their Michigan residence. It's not just for young people, but rather anyone 17 years or older with at least a high school diploma. It's late, but not too late to apply!

What is the American Connection Corps (ACC)?

The American Connection Corps is an AmeriCorps program that leverages the power of national service to expand people’s economic opportunities, bridge their social network, and open them up to different perspectives. It focuses on serving digitally disconnected communities across America.

Wait, didn't AmeriCorps get Defunded?
Although more than 1000 AmeriCorps programs were cut in early 2025, ACC was not. ACC is considered a highly efficient and effective AmeriCorps program and our service continues.

What is the Opportunity?
ACC applicants who qualify will be considered for placement at Merit Network for the service year running October 14, 2025 through August 2026. The ACC Members will work closely with the team at Merit to help create "digital opportunities" around the state of Michigan. This may include working with local libraries and other nonprofits to promote existing digital skills classes, computer labs, loaner hotspots etc; creating educational materials to help Michigan residents avoid online scams; or making sure residents are aware when a new internet service is available in their neighborhood. You can hear about what it's like to be an ACC Member at Merit in this recorded webinar.

What are the benefits for ACC members?
How do I apply?
Visit the ACC website, and apply online. You will be contacted by a recruitment specialist for next steps.
