Temporary
Pause on Dropping off or Mailing Items to the Library of Michigan
Due to the current uncertainty surrounding the State of Michigan budget and the potential for a government shutdown, the Library of Michigan
is asking anyone planning to drop off or mail items to our facility to refrain from doing so until the budget is passed and signed by the governor. This includes:
Although it has been recently announced that the governor and legislative leaders have reached a deal for a Fiscal Year 2026 budget (see
Budget deal: Whitmer, legislative leaders say they'll avoid a shutdown - Detroit Free Press 9/25/25), we are still asking for this pause until confirmation of the budget being passed is made.
If you have questions, please contact the Library of Michigan at 517-335-1477 or
Librarian@Michigan.gov prior to Tuesday, September 30.
