The best book drops I ever purchased were stainless steel book drops from American Book Returns a subsidiary of American Security Cabinets located in St. Cloud, MN.  They have a variety of products and sizes.  The book drops hold up to the weather and are very secure—except when cars run into them!!!  Seriously, the drop box at the Peter White Public Library was located on a curb and numerous people ran into it---not sure how.  Even with being hit several time, the box installed in 2000 is still going strong.
