Hi Mollie I thought that too, but Devil in a Blue Dress, the first in the series wasn't copyrighted until 1990. Sorry if I wasn't clear in my message request. The books were written in the 1970's and also took place during that time period. Thanks for the suggestion though! Heidi Neil Adult Services Librarian Adrian District Library 143 E. Could your patron be looking for Walter Moseley's Easy Rawlins books? Here's the Wikipedia page on Moseley: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Mosley. Mollie Mary P. Hello, I have a patron that is looking for a book series he read in the 1970's, that featured an African American renegade detective ("kind of like Shaft"...patron's words), the patron is fairly sure the series takes place in Chicago and takes place during the 1960's/1970's. It's not Philip Marlowe of Raymond Chandler books... Any suggestions?? Heidi Neil Adult Services Librarian Adrian District Library 143 E.
