Purpose: Michlib-L, moderated by the Library of Michigan, is your professional space for:
Vendor solicitations are not allowed.
All messages are archived and visible to all subscribers.
Community Expectations
Constructive Discussion - Help us keep things productive and positive. Share ideas, not criticism.
Disagreements - It’s okay to disagree. Just keep it respectful. Critique ideas, not individuals.
Kindness - We all make mistakes. If you notice a misstep, consider reaching out privately.
Focus - Keep posts relevant to the list’s purpose.
Clarity - Use clear, descriptive subject lines so others can easily follow the conversation.
Contact Info - Include your name and institution (if applicable) in your messages.
Efficiency - Not every reply needs to go to the whole list.

Collate Responses - If you receive multiple off-list replies, consider summarizing and sharing them back with the group.

Attachments are removed from the archives and digest versions.

If your message doesn’t appear on the list, check that you’re sending from the
email address you used to subscribe.
Messages from non-subscribed addresses won’t post. Need help with your subscription? I’m happy to check on it for you!
