"South of Superior" was Airgood’s debut novel and was named a Michigan Notable Book in 2012.

The novel tells the story of  Madeline Stone who leaves her Chicago life to live in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. As she is drawn into the dramas of the small, tight-knit town, Madeline learns that it’s a place where times are tough and debts run deep, but where friendship, community, and compassion run deeper.
