Hello all,

Quietly tucked away in the list of MeL Databases and the Books & Literacy Gateway is a valuable Readers Advisory tool for finding Michigan books for all age levels and genres.  Offering both quick and advanced searches, the Michigan Authors and Illustrators database provides a full profile including contact information, writing genre and audience, even a picture, if available.  Quick search is by author’s last name or book title.  Advanced search options include author’s workshop availability, Michigan county residence (one or multiple), birth month and year, and award names.  Curious what authors reside in your county?  Or, which authors are available for workshops?  Go to Michigan Authors and Illustrators and find out!

MeL Minutes are brought to you by the Library of Michigan.  Want more information on MeL?  Stay tuned for next week’s MeL Minute available on many Michigan library listservs, email us at contact@mel.org or visit http://mel.org/.  We encourage you to share MeL Minutes with your public service colleagues.
