…Michigan is participating in the 2017 Teen Video Challenge from the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP)! YA Librarians, please print and share the entry form with your teen patrons and consider leading a group in creating a video entry.  Teens are directed to their local libraries for any questions, so please do review the information below even if you are not submitting an entry on behalf of your teen group.  CSLP also provides information online: http://www.cslpreads.org/programs/teen-program/2017-tvc-materials/.  If you receive an entry at your library, please scan & email it to me at lancasterc5@michigan.gov or postmark it by 1/31/16 and mail it to me at the address below on behalf of the teen(s).  Thank you!

Eligibility

The “2017 Teen Video Challenge” for Michigan is open only to legal U.S. residents who are residents of Michigan aged 13 -18. Participants are ineligible if directly related to the panel of judges for the contest. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Contest Rules.

Each participant or group may submit one video per entry.  Each entry must include signed model release form(s).  All submissions must be received by January 31, 2017. Late entries will not be accepted. A DVD of the video will be requested from the winner.

Terms and Conditions

All music and artwork that the teen/s use must be freely available for legal use, sharing, repurposing and remixing and must be specified as such on the entry form.  CSLP (and all CSLP member affiliates) have permission to use the “2017 Teen Video Challenge” submissions, including all work created and all intellectual property embodied therein, as per the Contest Release form.

How to Enter

  1. Go to www.mi.gov/summerreading and click the “2017 Teen Video Challenge”
  2. Create your video
  3. Title your video with: “2017 TVC - MI – ‘Unique Name’.”  (Please choose a unique name that does not include your real name.)
  4. Upload your video to YouTube.com or Vimeo.com
  5. Fill out and sign your completed Entry & Model Release form(s) and
  6. Mail completed forms by January 31, 2017 attention to: Cathy Lancaster, Library of Michigan, P.O. Box 30007, Lansing, MI 48909.  Email entry forms to LancasterC5@michigan.gov  

Late entries will not be considered.

Winners and Prizes

CSLP will review all state winners during March 2017. In the spring of 2017, CSLP will award each CSLP approved State Teen Video Challenge Winner’s Public Library a prize worth $50.00 from Upstart.
