The William P. Faust Public Library of Westland is hiring a part-time Library Associate for its Youth Services Department. This is a 32 hour per week position, including evenings and weekends, starting at $14.50 per hour. There are no benefits available for the position.

Responsibilities of the Position:

Under the supervision of the Head of Youth Services, performs paraprofessional work serving library patrons directly or indirectly. Provides information and recommendations that can be used for materials selection in the Youth Services Department. Plans, organizes, and conducts library services and programs in Youth Services. Organizes library displays. Assists patrons with ready-reference questions and readers’ advisory, bibliographic instruction, and database searching. Assists with collection maintenance, such as weeding. Maintains pamphlet file and prepares bibliographies. Strong customer service skills are essential.
