The 8th edition includes updated listings for hundreds of historical societies, museums, attractions, and destinations across the state. Complete with photos, contact details, site information, and a QR code for easy access to each site's website, this guide is a must-have for Michigan residents and out-of-state travelers looking to explore the diverse history of the Great Lakes State. The new Travel Guide is available at Michigan Meijer stores and online at the Society’s website. It will also be available for sale at local bookstores and other locations across Michigan.
“Meijer’s sponsorship of the Historic Michigan Travel Guide helped make it possible to do the extensive work of collecting the necessary data and writing, editing, typesetting, and publishing this guide,” commented Larry J. Wagenaar, Executive Director and CEO of HSM. “In addition, Meijer has provided distribution in all of its Michigan stores to make this new edition widely available.”
The Historic Michigan Travel Guide is divided by geographic region. Each section lists sites alphabetically by the city or town name. Each entry consists of a detailed listing that provides the pertinent information needed to visit. For a Travel Guide listing, sites are required to have a physical location open to the public, be considered a 'tourist attraction' of historical interest, and be a member organization of the Historical Society of Michigan.
The guide has a retail price of $12.95, with a discount for current members of the Society. Learn more about the Historic Michigan Travel Guide and the Historical Society of Michigan at hsmichigan.org.
