Dear Colleagues, The .25 New Additional Millage Proposal was not passed yesterday. We were encouraged that the vote was close and lost by 68 votes. We were encouraged that 517 voters came out to support us. We have a chance to go back and ask again in November. A total of 1,145 (or 23.03 percent) of the township's 4,971 registered voters cast a ballot. We need to reach out more to our community between now and November to generate more support for funding and perhaps with a larger turnout and not so many millages up for renewal, we will have a better chance for success. My genuine congratulations to all of my colleagues who achieved success for their libraries and communities at the polls yesterday! Sincerely, Jaema Berman -- Jaema Berman Director Addison Twp.
