ALA President Julius C. Jefferson Jr.'s virtual tour bus visited academic, public, and school libraries in six communities
last week. If you didn't have the opportunity to attend, you can catch up by reading Julius’

The virtual tour begins its second leg of tour dates today in
Norman, Oklahoma with a town hall event at Pioneer Library System. Join us to discuss the state’s focus on preparing all Oklahomans for successful career transitions. This
event begins at 1pm CT today.

On August 4 at 2pm CT, the tour moves forward to
Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico. This stop will focus on tribal communities and broadband access.

August 5 at 3pm CT, we head to
Cordes Lake Library in Arizona to learn about the unique roles libraries have in rural communities. The conversation will focus on service to specific populations, keeping
residents connected, and more.

August 6 at 1pm CT, the bus stops at
Carson City, Nevada where we learn about Nevada State Library’s innovative pilot project to promote workforce development.

On the last day of the tour, August 7, we’ll be visiting
Oakland Public Library in California at 2:30pm CT to learn about children and family services and programs, including a special conversation with and performances by OPL’s
youth poets.
Register for "Listen to the Kids: Youth- and Family-Centered Practices at Oakland Public Library." The tour will then come to a close at 4pm CT with a
celebration at the Hawaii State Library. We'll hear about the thriving Hawaiian library ecosystem and library leaders will share their vision about the future of librarianship.
