The goal of this 3-part workshop is to teach storytime staff how to explain, model and encourage caregivers to help their children develop the early literacy skills needed to learn how to read. Participants will become familiar with seminal research on early literacy, how to explain its importance to caregivers while presenting fun, interactive storytimes. This will also cover the 5 practices of Every Child Ready to Read, the basis of Ready to Read Michigan.
