The Grant Area District Library is seeking an experienced, team-oriented Youth Services Assistant to oversee the operation of the library’s Youth Services Department. This person provides professional library information services to children (ages birth through 17), their parents and caregivers. Such services include reader’s advisory, reference services, planning and conducting programming and coordinating community outreach.
Required Qualifications:
Associates
degree or 2 years of college; possession of a valid
Michigan Driver’s License; training and/or experience in early childhood education; ability to work 30-34 hours per week including evening and weekend
hours.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a youth or library related field; previous
experience working in a public library setting; awareness of children & teens current reading,
viewing and listening interests and habits; proven ability to work collaboratively with outside organizations,
including schools; demonstrated initiative and accountability.
Pay: $10.00-$13.00/hr (DOQ)
