Immediate opening for a part-time Reference/ Local History Librarian at the Comstock Township Library! Reference/ Local History Librarian Job Description 20 hours per week (16 hours on desk) Evenings and rotating Saturdays required. Job Description: Be able to troubleshoot basic computer issues. Answer reference questions with accuracy Be able to access information effectively. Excellent customer service skills. Be able to assist patrons in one-on-one computer lessons. Catalog materials using MARC standards, DDC, LCSH, and RDA. Assist in collection development. Maintain the local history room. Archival work with newspapers pertaining to the Kalamazoo area, in particular Comstock. Indexing local historical information. M.L.S. or M.L.I.S. degree from an A.L.A. accredited institution. This job requires: Sitting for long periods of time. Pushing book carts and lifting up to 25 lbs. of library materials Retrieving materials from high or low shelves.
