Minimum requirements include an MLS from an ALA-accredited program and five years of library experience in increasingly responsible library positions or an equivalent background and experience that will enable the candidate to effectively perform the work required. Essential skills include excellent administrative, financial planning, communication, and personnel management skills; ability to inspire and lead staff; initiative, awareness and vision in developing library services; and skill in building and maintaining effective relationships with the staff, Library Board, Friends of the Library and community leaders. Successful experience reporting to a governing board, working in a multi-branch environment, and successful strategic planning and implementation are highly preferred. Compensation.
