Good morning from Michigan Humanities!

We are excited for Great Michigan Read author Curtis Chin to be back in Michigan next week and hope to see you all at a free community event in Charlevoix, Sault Ste. Marie, Marquette, St. Ignace, and West Branch!

I’ve attached a poster that highlights the four stops on the May leg of our Great Michigan Read author tour, and included a list below that includes those four + a partner event in St. Ignace supported by GMR Action Grant funding.

Please, help us spread the word about this incredible set of free, public events!

The 2025–26 Great Michigan Read is presented by Michigan Humanities and supported by national, statewide and local partners, including the Library of Michigan and Michigan State University Federal Credit Union.

Interested in being part of the Great Michigan Read selection process? Contact me about committee participation, and share your ideas for future titles by May 31.

Please let me know if you have any questions or are interested in becoming a Great Michigan Read partner. We have a limited number of books and materials remaining! Grant funding for partner programming is still available.

Looking forward to seeing you at a Great Michigan Read event soon,

Katie
