All, Brigette has finished compiling the statewide, consolidated statistics (library by library stats are n/a now but may be available in the future) for the first week of MAP Year 2. We are very pleased to share with you the great news that the number of checkouts is up 19% for the first week of MAP Year 2, vs the first week of MAP Year 1. Thank you for all of your hard work and promotion on behalf of the MAP program. By the way, the top five destinations for MAP pass users in MAP Year 2, Week 1 were as follows: Michigan Science Center DIA Yankee Air Museum Arab American Museum Gilmore Car Museum Three of these five (Michigan Science Center, Arab American Museum, Gilmore Car Museum) are new to MAP this year. And I am very pleased to see the Gilmore Car Museum, the premier automobile museum in the country, included in this list. This tells us that MAP is garnering plenty of attention outside the greater metropolitan Detroit area, too. Along those lines please remember that there is promotional material (printable brochure, bookmarks, posters, etc) for MAP available at this link: http://tln.lib.mi.us/map/ Potential cultural partners are still taking notice of MAP. To that end, I am pleased to announce that sometime in the next several days we will be adding our 110th venue to the program. The Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) has submitted its application to become a MAP partner. We will be adding their information http://www.mocadetroit.org/ to the MAP website sometime during the next several days. Throughout the coming weeks and months we will be featuring and sharing with you a "Top Ten" list of our favorite MAP attractions. Look for our lists very soon!
