MCLS is looking for an extremely well-organized, highly motivated individual to be Assistant Manager of our Member Services team. As part of our four person team, you will manage licenses from dozens of vendor partners and negotiate to get the best terms and conditions for MCLS member libraries. You will assist members with new and renewal subscriptions and inform them about any changes in their licenses. You will oversee the Member Services section of the MCLS website and keep it current with all the latest information about vendors, prices, and special offers. It’s a challenging and exciting opportunity. The right person will be an effective multitasker, highly organized, and detail oriented. You should be knowledgeable about the latest trends in collection development and e-resources. Experience with database or e-journal license negotiations is a big plus. You need to be a people person with the skills to get along with people in a variety of positions, from sales reps to front-line librarians to department heads and directors. A sense of humor and an ability to learn on the job are critical to success. With the anticipated retirement of the Member Services Manager in July 2015, the Assistant Manager will be in a very strong position for promotion.
