Job Posting -- Adult Services Librarian
The Paw Paw District Library seeks a creative, energetic person to join our team. The Adult Services Librarian is responsible for presenting adult programs, creating promotional material, and providing direct service to patrons. The ideal
candidate will be collaborative, tech-savvy, and thrive on creating engaging library programs.
40 hours per week, including evening and weekend hours
$45,000 per year,
vacation, sick, personal, and holiday pay, life insurance, and stipend for additional benefits equal to 27% of salary
Description
- Plans and presents adult programs in a variety of formats
- Contributes content to the library's website and social media
- Writes and submits press releases
- Seeks partnership opportunities with community members and organizations
- Assists with analyzing and evaluating library programming
- Works at the circulation desk
- Provides exceptional patron service, including reference and reader's advisory
- Acts as supervisor-in-charge as assigned
- Requests material for purchase and weeds collections as assigned
- Stays abreast of trends in public libraries, literature, and popular culture
- Collaborates with other library staff to achieve the library's goals and mission
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited school
- Public library experience preferred
- Program or event experience preferred
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Computer literacy, including social media
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
