AVAILABLE POSITION: Library Assistant, Youth Services
WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, non-exempt, 40 hours per week, including evening and weekend hours.
PAY RATE: Starting wage is $13.58 per hour. Benefits include health, vision and dental insurance; retirement plan; paid holidays and paid time off.
JOB SUMMARY: The Library Assistant in the Youth Services Department is a paraprofessional with a broad range of duties and responsibilities. Their primary responsibility is to provide services to the public at the Youth Services Desk. Additionally, they will assist the Youth Services Librarian with a variety of tasks, including programming, marketing, and outreach. REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or the equivalent; some college experience is highly preferred. Ability to become familiar with the needs and interests of children and teens. Ability to complete tasks independently and meet deadlines. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail. Ability to travel to other locations and transport related program materials.
Additionally, to perform the essential functions of the position, an individual may be required to maintain a physical condition necessary for sitting, walking, and/or standing for long periods of time; lifting or carrying light to moderately heavy objects; operating assigned equipment, including computers.
