Dear Colleagues,

Please feel free to share with anyone whom you think would be interested in attending this program:

Game of Thrones Mini Renaissance Fair

“Winter is Coming”

There is no shelter from the storm… Game of Thrones will be coming to the Pinckney Community Public Library.

After a wildly successful program based on PBS’s Masterpiece series Downton Abbey, the Pinckney Community Public Library will be hosting an even bigger program based on Game of Thrones, featuring George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire books and the HBO series that these books inspired. On Friday, June 20, 2014, from 6:15pm to 9pm, prepare to be transported to the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros and the Free Cities of Essos!

“When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground.”

The program schedule is divided into two parts, with the first part consisting of presentations that are “family friendly” and open to guests of all ages. Included in the festivity’s performances are:

The remaining hour will be dedicated to a discussion of George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire book series and HBO’s Game of Thrones TV Series. This portion of the evening contains mature content and may include spoilers for both the books and the TV series. Theme-inspired refreshments will be served throughout the evening and will include recipes from A Feast of Ice Fire: The Official Game of Thrones Companion Cookbook.

Pinckney Library’s “Game of Thrones Mini Renaissance Fair” has been paid for by a grant from the Metro-Detroit Book & Author Society’s James C. Dance Award for the Performing Arts.
