Hello amazing librarians! We had a patron come in earlier inquiring about an old picture book she read when she was a little girl in the early or mid-1980's. While she doesn't remember the title or the author of the book she was able to describe a few key features of the story. According to the patrons memory, the gist of the story is a sword swallower who injures himself while swallowing a sword. While in the hospital his daughter draws with chalk on the sidewalk outside until his release. She said she remembers the illustrations as being really nice. I've had no luck searching Mel or Worldcat. Any ideas? Please reply to me directly.
