Dear Library Colleagues,

The Pinckney Library (125 Putnam St., Pinckney, MI 48169) invites you, your family and friends to a presentation by Jeremy Dimick of the Detroit Historical Society entitled: Becoming Hockeytown: The Detroit Red Wings at 100 on Tuesday, April 14 starting at 6:30pm.

Becoming Hockeytown, the Detroit Red Wings at 100

In 1926, the Detroit Cougars played their first game in the National Hockey League.

In the century since, the Cougars became the Red Wings, the most storied of all American hockey clubs, winning eleven Stanley Cup championships, producing some of the game's all-time greats and creating a distinctly Detroit hockey culture.

Come explore how in the century since that first season Detroit became Hockeytown.

Note: This is a hybrid program--In Person at the Pinckney Library or online via Zoom. The presentation is live and will not be recorded. The presenter, Jeremy Dimick will present in person at the library.
