About the Training:

This training is Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement (MCOLES) approved.

Given the increase in active assailant, “lone wolf” attacks and mass shootings in workplaces, schools, healthcare facilities and the community, first responders, law enforcement, corporate security personnel and School Resources Officers, (SROs), are becoming more proactive in trying to identify, assess and preventively manage, potential perpetrators. This program will share threat assessment strategies and investigative techniques to try to obtain these goals.  

Training Objectives:

1. Enhance the officer’s / department’s / company’s capacity to recognize behavioral indicators of people “who pose threats”, and types of threats from employees, students, contractors, customers or other individuals towards the organization’s management, personnel and assets.

2. Train the Officer in conducting an initial threat investigation and risk assessment and to develop coordinated reasonable threat management strategies with the at-risk organization, in terms of:
 - Potential perpetrator
 - Target
 - Other “at-risk” individuals
 - Coordination of organization internal and community resources
 - OSHA, Secret Service, FBI / ASIS Guidelines.

3. Use scenario-based interactive exercises to train the officer to identify, assess and manage a variety of workplace and school threatening situations.

4. Define Key Elements of a Threat Assessment Protective Intelligence Program.

5. Crisis Recover After Shootings and Mass Casualty Events
 - Traumatic Impact of Impact of Violent Events on People, Operations and Brand Name
 - Emergency Operations Plan / Incident Command System
 - Site Logistics at Mass Casualty Scenes
 - Crisis Support for Victims and First Responders

Dr. Wolf consults on Protective Intelligence, Threat Assessment, Crisis Management, and Violence Prevention Programs. He was a Threat Management and Crisis Response Consultant to the United States Postal Service, the United States Army, ASIS, and Fortune 500 Companies. He has trained Threat Assessment and Crisis Teams for federal, state and local law enforcement departments, public entities and schools. Through a MIOSHA CET funded grant, he has trained employers, unions and companies in Michigan.
