Everyone likes to plan for success, but we need to plan for disasters as well. Fires, floods, storms, thefts, injuries, violence - all of these can strike at any time and often when least expected. Museums and history organizations have special challenges because they care for irreplaceable objects of unique cultural value. Despite that fact, staff members often simply hope for the best and have no plans for the worst. This workshop focuses on drafting a disaster plan that history institutions can use to implement an effective response in the event that disaster strikes.
