Hello all,

MeL database InfoTrac Newsstand may not be the first resource you think of when patrons ask for perspective on current events but it’s well worth becoming acquainted with because of the volume and variety of sources contained there.  And, if you think it only contains newspapers, think again.  Newswires, transcripts, blogs, and newsletters are among the formats included. At the home page, select “Publication Search”, check the options to limit to full text and all dates, then click on “List all Publications” and prepare to be amazed at the results.  Refine the results (over 2,300 publications) by selecting limiters including subject area, format, target audience, countries of publication, and language.  Coverage dates vary and some are limited/closed runs but the combinations are extensive.  It is also useful for getting international perspective by being able to search resources published in over 20 countries including the United Kingdom, Pakistan, and United Arab Emirates. Michigan residents or Michigan library access only.
