Job Title: Reference & Technology Services Librarian Starting Wage: 17.50 per hour with an increase to $18.00 after 3 months for part-time position $37,000 per year with an increase to $40,000 per year after 3 months for full-time position Scheduled Hours: Flexibility of part-time or full-time position depending on your availability A minimum of 12-15 hours per week for part-time position or 36 hours per week for full-time position; both part-time and full time positions include 1-2 evenings and alternating Saturdays Benefits: Paid holidays beginning immediately and personal time / pro-rated vacation after 6 months with part-time and full-time positions Medical insurance and 401K matching with full-time position Application Deadline: until position is filled Application Instructions: Submit cover letter and resume to Cathy Forst, Director: [ mailto:cforst@springfield.lib.mi.us | cforst@springfield.lib.mi.us ] Position Summary/Responsibilities: · Provide assistance to patrons navigating resources in all areas of the library (juvenile, teen and adult) · Deliver reader’s advisory services and conduct reference interviews with patrons · Provide assistance to patrons accessing downloadable content via OverDrive/Libby and Hoopla · Manage the library’s website and social media presence · Create physical and digital marketing materials including in-library signage, displays, brochures, digital presentations, and website and social media content · Assist patrons with public and laptop computer usage including Microsoft Office applications, internet access, printing, email and other basic computer issues · Assist with library programming by organizing event speakers and entertainers, managing projection and video technology, and recruiting patrons for library events · Conduct collection development tasks including shelf reading and weeding Required Qualifications: · Graduate or student of Master of Library Science from an ALA accredited program · Proficiency in current computing environments along with knowledge of digital resources · Enthusiastic and friendly customer service attitude and cooperative work ethic · Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, walk, stand and lift up to 30 pounds Preferred Qualifications: · Proficiency with graphic design applications such as Microsoft Publisher and Canva · Experience with website management and social media marketing · Understanding of library ILS applications, specifically CARL Kristina Costigan Children's and Teen Services Librarian/Reference Team Leader Springfield Township Library 12000 Davisburg Road Davisburg, MI 48350 www.springfield.michlibrary.com kcostigan@springfield.lib.mi.us 248-846-6550
