Julie [Julie - Signature with phone #] Head of Circulation Clarkston Independence District Library seeks an enthusiastic, detail-oriented candidate to join a positive, team-oriented work environment to lead Circulation Services. Hours: 40 hours per week, includes some evenings and weekends Salary: $40,000-$58,000 depending on qualifications and experience Benefits: Health, dental, and optical insurance; Disability and life insurance; Vacation, sick and personal days; Retirement plan. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: * Hire, train, schedule and supervise a team of circulation clerks and pages focused on great customer service * Develop, document, provide training and oversee procedures to ensure efficient, accurate circulation service * Crosstrain library employees from other departments on circulation policies and functions of ILS as needed * Provide clarification of Circulation policy when needed * Communicate with library staff about circulation policies and procedures that affect other library functions * Collaborate closely with the Head of Technical Services and IT Manager * Work with Administrative Assistant and Library Accountant to ensure money handling best practices * Collaborate on initiatives to increase library usage * Develop policies and procedures with administrative team * Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: * 3-5 years of public library circulation experience * Supervisory experience in a library circulation department * Detail oriented with the ability to document policies and procedures * Strong knowledge of Integrated Library Systems, Polaris preferred * Excellent organization and planning skills with the ability to work independently and as a team leader * Ability to train others to ensure efficient, consistent service * Desire and ability to provide excellent customer service Reports to: Library Director Send cover letter, resume, and contact information for three professional references by email to: Julie Meredith Library Director Clarkston Independence District Library juliem@cidlibrary.org<mailto:juliem@cidlibrary.org> Deadline for applications: Monday, August 3, 2020 at 5pm An Equal Opportunity Employer
