Hi Helen (and all), I did get a response from Sarah Delano at OverDrive about that message in the Purchased Titles report and I will share it with the list. I didn't realize that there is a total count of holdings in the upper corner of the screen on the Title Usage report so I am glad that I asked, and most likely I will use this report going forward to get the most accurate info. Having said that, it does sound like the Purchased Titles report still works pretty well, but it won't provide the total count of licenses that some libraries wanted. I'm pasting Sarah's more detailed response to me below, but I'm not sure if the embedded image will come through on the listserv. ********************* Hi Shawn, I believe this message is due to the fact that libraries were looking for exact license counts which unfortunately are not in the Purchased Titles report. I do admit that we have fine-tuned the Title Status and Usage report when it comes to a more accurate number for the overall title count. There is an easy way to use this report as well thankfully! When running for the usual settings, instead of adding everything up as you may have done previously, please look in the upper right hand corner of the report. This will be your overall count number. In this case, I ran for all time and got 7,393, which is the same number you would get from running a blank advance search on the new site. When running Purchased titles, the overall title count comes out to 7,354 which is a bit lower, but still close! I am not sure why there is a 40 title discrepancy, it may be due to the lending model type or a status in the collection. We do have libraries that use both reports for what they need and I will let our Marketplace Team know that you find the Purchased titles report easier to use. I apologize for this confusion, but I am hoping I can make it as easy as I can for finding what you need! Please let me know if I can help with anything else today or answer any other questions. Thanks, Sarah ******************************** Shawn Andary, ALS System Admin UP Region of Library Cooperation 1615 Presque Isle Ave Marquette, MI 49855 v (906)226-4675 Ext. 4 f (906)228-5627 ******************************** On Fri, Nov 11, 2016 at 9:28 AM, Helen Dewey <rhdewey@charter.net> wrote:
Thank you for sharing this method.
I tried it, and I see at the top of the Purchased Titles report a note:
" This report does not display the total number of units or licenses currently in your collection. See the Title status & usage report for information about your current holdings. "
That report, run with the same dates (starting 1/1/2009 and ending 6/30/2016), produces a different total! Is that because of licenses??
This is confusing.

Here is how you obtain your OverDrive statistics so you can complete that portion of your State Aid report.
To get # of circulations for your library:
log in to the OverDrive marketplace - https://marketplace.overdrive .com/Reports choose Reports under the Insights tab choose Circulation Activity (in the collection activity box - 2nd from the top) Then choosing Run New Report (toward the bottom right)
A box will open with your options - select Branch for the checkouts option and then choose your library's name in the Branch pulldown set date range (start date and end date) to your fiscal year then click Update
Once the report runs, you will see your library's name and the number of checkouts for that date range on the bottom. If you click on your library's name or the number, you'll get a the itemized list of every title matching the # of circulations. You can also choose "Create Worksheet" to get a downloadable spreadsheet (you can open .csv files in Excel or another spreadsheet program) with the same data
Woodlands Downloadable Library Collection as a whole:
Start here: https://marketplace.overdrive.com/Reports, then choose Purchased Titles (first option in top right box). Once you're in there, choose Run New Report
Then you can specify your date range (if you're looking for the collection as a whole, I always make the start date 1/1/2009) and then your format. If you don't narrow down format you get the total for both eAudio & eBooks mashed together. You'll have to run it separately for each format.
You'll see Consortium titles on the left and Advantage titles on the right.
