Ennis and Nancy Ham Library at Rochester College in Rochester Hills, MI is looking for a highly motivated individual to fill our Electronic Resources Librarian (part-time) position.

JOB TITLE:               Electronic Resources Librarian, Part-time

DEPARTMENT:         Library

REPORTS TO:          Director of Library Services

POSITION FILLED: ASAP

 

POSITION SUMMARY:   This position is responsible for managing the library’s ERM resources as well as the library website. Serves as the main contact with the IT Department in resolving all electronic access concerns. Assist with collection development and reference services as needed.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• MLS or MLIS from an ALA accredited graduate program
• Knowledge of e-resources management trends and practices
• Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage a wide range of electronic resources
• Manages the library web pages
• Manages the library’s social media accounts
• Provides technical support to resolve access issues for library e-resources
• Communicates with vendors, IT, DALNET and library staff regarding e-resource technical issues
• Assists with collection development
• Provides reference services as needed

 

 SUPERVISORY DUTIES:

• Supervises student library assistants

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Good oral and written communication skills with high degree of computer literacy
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Knowledge of internet, online information retrieval, and use of electronic resources
• Supportive of the College mission.  Indicators of this support include a demonstrated personal faith in Jesus Christ and being active in a local church.
