I've used chalkboard paint on a sign and on a wall and it worked well! I'd recommend using real chalk instead of chalk markers if you want it to be easily removed though, as there's often a faint "halo" until you use chemicals to clean it. Good luck with your project!

We put "chalk board" paint in our group study rooms where we have dry markers. It seems to be working well and I've had no negative feedback on it. It has been up for about one year.

My experience with painting metal with any kind of paint: First, rough it up a little with sand paper. 2nd, Lay down a base coat...flat, not gloss. White base for Whiteboard paint. Anything darker for the Blackboard Paint.

We are getting ready to do whiteboard paint on the tops of all the tables in the Teen section. Will have to rough up the laminate tops for that, too.
