Literacy is a top priority in Michigan!  The proposed 2026 Senate PreK-12 School Aid Budget includes funding for school libraries (Section 35e and Section 27b) to support this priority. The House proposed budget does not include these items. Key Michigan budget decision makers are meeting now to negotiate the final budget.Thus,  we are asking all school library supporters to take action NOW to urge decision makers to include these essential school library budget items in the final School Aid Budget.  Your action will help support the goal toward improved literacy through access to quality school libraries for all students in Michigan.Please click on the link below to take action by sending an email to key Michigan House legislators currently making decisions about education funding.
