Fellow Programming Librarians, I recently hosted Greg Bodker of Backyard Birds and Beyond for a virtual presentation for the Northville District Library on Birdwatching and Birding. 85 people attended and sent me more written positive comments on that program than I've had for a Zoom program thus far! Greg's enthusiasm for the subject is obvious and his presentation style is entertaining as well as informative. He tailored his talk to feature birds from our geographic area and gave many tips for beginners (or those who have forgotten how much they like observing nature). His beautiful photographs and video brought the topic to life and he capably answered questions from the audience. I highly recommend Greg as a presenter. Greg has led birding trips for Michigan Audubon and was on its Board of Directors for three years. Currently, he enjoys delivering birding and nature education presentations to audiences throughout Michigan. He also has presented at San Antonio Audubon. Greg has birded in all of Michigan’s 83 counties and in most of North America. He is excited to report he saw his 625th North American bird species, a Tufted Duck, while birding in Southwest Michigan in 2019. Greg was also named a winner in Michigan Nature Association’s 2018 and 2019 photo contests.
