We specifically didn't want to use age as the standard, both because staff rarely knows the age of a patron and because there are 6 year olds who live on the same block and are exemplary patrons while there are 10 year olds who are unreasonably disruptive...we also tend to have more issues with parents who are in the building letting their children go wild than we do with children who come to the library unaccompanied.

I am emailing to ask at what age are kids permitted to be in the library unattended by a supervising adult?  We are looking to review our policy and wanted to see what cap other libraries have.
