Hello,
From my understanding, for a millage campaign, a library director and library staff volunteer on a "YES" Committee on their own time (unpaid). However, it's best practice for library staff/director
not to hold any the chair positions on the YES Committee.
How about the library issuing a call of action to the community to join the YES Committee? Ex. posting on bulletin board: Interested in helping with the next phase of our Library? Join us for an Information Meeting at XYZ Coffee Shop, 7pm
on 2/1/25.
My gut is telling me the above would be okay, but posting on the library's social media would be a no. This whole line of thinking is how to reach members of the community to join YES Committee that are interested but not being asked directly.
Thanks for your time.
