Good morning, Library Land!
I have a couple of questions regarding policies we need to add/change.
Over the weekend, we had a transaction/incident that resulted in the potential need to update our policies regarding copies. A patron came in with a stack of papers he wanted 2 copies of. After printing nearly 800 copies, taking breaks to prevent the machine
from overheating, and then getting a notification that the ink cartridge (which costs $240) was extremely low, I received a text from a staff member warning me of the ink issue. Do you have something in your policies that places a limit on how many copies
a patron can request? Common sense should prevail, but clearly we need something in writing.
Also, we have nothing in our policies with regards to per diem, so I would love to see what you have on that. We are a Class II library, but I would love any information I can get.
Thank you,
