Sending this on behalf of the novelist John Smolens. He's a retired  English professor from Northern Michigan University. His most recent novel  Day of Days was a Michigan Notable book. I would describe his books at literary and historical.  He will be below the bridge to promote his next book  A Cold, Hard Prayer  on  October 19 at the Heartland Forum for  Bookselllers - He plans to be in the mitten part of our state for a week or so either side  of the Heartland Event.
